NEW JERSEY: (UPDATE) Governor Murphy announces recommendations of his task force on vaping, which included a ban on both flavors and online sales. Murphy said he doesn’t have the authority to ban flavors products by executive order. Both the task force and the governor blamed flavored retail products for the lung illness outbreak that has been more strongly linked to unrelated products sold on the street. The press conference was a farce that included such doozies as “There is no scientific evidence to date that identifies e-cigarettes as a smoking cessation product.” and “Fifty percent of people who use nicotine or tobacco products will die from it.”
It’s time to ban flavored vapes in N.J., task force demands. Murphy agrees.
OREGON: (UPDATE) Governor Brown orders 180-day ban on flavored vaping products, following other governors in falsely blaming nicotine vapor products (sold to help adults quit smoking) for the recent outbreak of lung illnesses.
